Police discovered Keyvon unresponsive in his car on Mix Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound. Early reports indicate that three individuals approached him and shot him before fleeing the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Keyvon’s mother, Keyna Washington, and stepfather, Eleazar Thompson, described him as a young man with a big heart, a passion for cooking, and a deep care for the people close to him. “As soon as I came to the scene, I saw his car and I knew it was him,” Keyna Washington shared, expressing the profound shock and heartbreak of losing her son so suddenly.
Thompson added, “Just like any other kid, he had his phases in life, and it’s just sad that it happened now when he was really making a major change in his life. It’s tragic because you can’t rewind the tape. He’s gone.”
